Job summary

KLX Energy Services LLC in Mills, WY is seeking a MWD Field Technician to support directional drilling and gamma logging operations.

The role requires safety diligence, ability to travel, strong communication, and the training to complete MWD Operator 1 and Basic Rig Knowledge exams.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Computer literate; proficient with Windows XP or equivalent and MS Office.
• Good writing and organizational skills required.
• Willing to travel and work extended periods away from home as needed.
• Travel extensively across the U.S. and be able to pass background and drug tests.
• Must complete MWD Operator 1 and Basic Rig Knowledge Exams.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety directives and wears PPE on well sites.
• Operates directional and full-service gamma logging jobs independently.
• Manages and develops MWD personnel on site.
• Generates and delivers MWD logs and reports to clients.
• Participates in knowledge sharing and stays updated on technology and strategies.
• Prepares End-of-Well reports and final client data delivery; conducts post-job debriefings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Adheres to all corporate safety directives to promote a safe working environment, including participating in safety talks and wearing required PPE.
• Conducts safety audit of well site and rig conditions upon arrival on site, and provides training to other MWD personnel on site hazards.
• Operates directional only and full service gamma jobs unassisted.
• Is responsible for the management, training, and development of any MWD personnel at the well site.
• Is responsible for MWD log generation and delivery.
• Actively participates in knowledge sharing.
• Manages personal development and keeps informed on the latest technology and strategies.
• Is responsible for the preparation of End-of-Well reports and final client data delivery.
• Is responsible for post-job debriefings

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Computer literate; competent in Windows XP or equivalent and MS Office
• Good writing skills and organizational skills
• Work for extended periods away from domicile and family at all hours of the day or night, as required and be able to perform the duties required at a superior level.
• Travel extended distances and to all areas of the U.S. required.
• Must pass pre-employment background check.

• Must complete training requirements and pass MWD Operator 1 and Basic Rig Knowledge Exams.
