Utah State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre to teach across the core curriculum, provide voice and speech instruction, and serve as Music Director for departmental productions. The role strengthens USU’s BFA Musical Theatre program by uniting rigorous classroom work with rehearsal, performance, and professional preparation.

Formación

• Terminal degree in Acting, Musical Theatre, Theatre, Music or related field by start date.
• Minimum two years of university teaching experience.
• Ability to teach core Musical Theatre performance courses.
• Music Direction experience including score preparation and vocal coaching.
• Functional keyboard proficiency.
• Record of creative and/or scholarly work.
• Ability to collaborate with performers, directors, choreographers, musicians, and colleagues.

Responsabilidades

• Teach core undergraduate Musical Theatre courses.
• Design learning outcomes, provide feedback, assess progress.
• Collaborate on curriculum development and course sequencing.
• Serve as Music Director for department productions and projects.
• Establish a program of research or creative activity.
• Mentor undergraduates in development, experiential learning, and career planning.
• Recruit students through auditions and outreach to schools.
