Hospice of Michigan, Inc. seeks a Music Therapist in Ann Arbor to plan and implement ongoing musical activities addressing patients’ physical, emotional, spiritual and family needs.

The role involves developing therapy programs across diverse settings, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, and mentoring students and volunteers. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy, re-certification within six months if not already current, and 2–3 years of hospice or healthcare

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Music Therapist-Board Certified certification or achieved within six months.
• Two to three years of hospice or healthcare experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Develops, administers and coordinates therapy programs in nursing homes, IPU and home settings.
• Implements music activities to support sensory stimulation, memory recall and socialization.
• Collaborates with Interdisciplinary Team to set therapeutic objectives.
• Assists in recruiting and mentoring students, interns and volunteers.
• Plans and performs group and one-to-one activities per the care plan.
• Keeps accurate documentation and informs staff of changes.
• Supports growth and expansion of the music therapy program.
• Adheres to safety, infection control and required trainings.
