The candidate holds an AMTA-accredited bachelor’s degree, is a licensed professional music therapist, MT-BC certified, with at least one year of experience and BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Schedule is days, 8:30am-5:00pm.

Job Details

Cleveland Clinic’s Business Operations Center serves as a key hub for our Home Care and Hospice operations as well as many administrative and support teams. This collaborative workplace supports a wide range of caregivers, clinical professionals, and operational teams. While many positions are based within the center, numerous home-visiting roles—including case managers, nurses, and therapists—travel throughout the Greater Cleveland and Akron/Canton areas to deliver exceptional care directly to patients in their homes.

As a Music Therapist, you will provide patients with comprehensive clinical therapy services designed to help them meet individual goals and enhance their well-being.In this role, you can make a lasting difference in both the lives of patients and their families by offering them a creative outlet for various mental and physical health ailments.

A caregiver in this position works8:30am to 5:00pm in the field.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Design, implement and evaluateMusic Therapyinterventions to address the biopsychosocial needs of hospitalized patients and families as appropriate.

• Serve as clinical and educational resource for the hospital units and professional community regarding music therapy practice.

• Assist and participate in research as needed, working with teams to develop research topics and protocols, conducting research, gathering results and assisting in articles for submission.

• Assist Music Therapy Department as needed to develop and evaluate music therapy programs and initiatives.

• Coordinatetherapyobservation experiences, write reports and collaborate on other projects as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a program accredited by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA)
• Licensed Professional Music Therapist (LPMT) through the state licensing board required
• Music Therapist Board Certified (MT-BC) from the Certification Board for Music Therapists required
• One year of experience providing music therapy services is required. Consideration will be made for time spent in practicum or internship providing music therapy services.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross within 90 days of hire

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Three years of experience providing Music Therapy in a hospital or healthcare setting

• Master’s Degree

Physical Requirements:

• Standing and walking at least 75% of the time; sitting less than 25% of the time; hand and finger dexterity and reaching with arms and hands at least 75% of the time, close vision and depth perception at least 75% of the time; hearing and talking more than 80% of the time; and pushing and pulling at least 75% of the time.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
