Job summary

Sheppard Pratt Careers is seeking a licensed Music Therapist to join our in-person clinical team in Maryland. The position requires MS/MA in music therapy or an equivalent degree and current state licensure or certification (BC-MT, ACMT, CMT, or RMT).

The role involves developing treatment plans, providing individual and group music therapy, documenting EMR notes, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary staff to support patients across age groups.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in music therapy from a program approved by the AMTA, plus 1-2 years related experience, or a Master’s degree in music therapy with 3-6 months related work experience.
• Must be licensed by the State Board to practice Music Therapy at appointment and continuously; one of BC-MT, ACMT, CMT or RMT.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with multidisciplinary staff, faculty, and patients from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to creating a learning environment that values, empowers, enriches and supports patients/students and other staff.
• Develops a professional treatment plan that meets patient needs and aligns with the treatment team.
• Provides professional music therapy services to individuals and groups based on patient needs and diagnoses.
• Completes written documentation and data entry into the EMR to record assessments, progress, and discharge; reports observations to the treatment team.
