Job summary

Community College of Denver is seeking a CCD Excel Zone Music Theory Embedded Tutor to support students in the Music Theory classroom as a peer tutor paired with a faculty member. The role requires approximately eight hours per week per section, including classroom time, tutoring, and office hours.

Applicants must be enrolled in at least six CCD credit hours, have strong written and aural Music Theory skills, and obtain a recommendation from CCD Music faculty.

Qualifications

• Must possess strong written and aural Music Theory skills.
• Must have completed the course to be supported or a higher-level course within the same departmental sequence.
• Must be enrolled in at least six CCD credit hours during the semester of employment.

Responsibilities

• Attend the assigned course and/or labs taught by the paired faculty member.
• Assist students during class or lab activities as directed by the faculty member.
• Reinforce and demonstrate Music Theory concepts and course materials.
• Meet with the paired faculty member on a biweekly basis to discuss course content, student learning needs, and planned tutoring support.
• Hold office hours and/or tutoring sessions for students enrolled in the assigned course, as coordinated with the faculty member.
