Job summary

The California State University, Stanislaus invites applications for a temporary hourly-intermittent Student Assistant in the Music department in Stanislaus - Turlock. The position starts on or after November 1, 2026 and ends by May 31, 2026, with potential renewal based on budget and performance.

Duties include setting up classrooms, event staffing, live sound, lighting, recording/streaming, post-production, equipment inventory support, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, POS, or event staffing.
• Basic familiarity with musical ensembles.
• Experience with audio/video recording and production.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and preparing classrooms in the music department for ensemble rehearsals and other classes.
• Event staffing, including setup/stagehand duties, ushering, box office sales, and supervision of events in Snider Recital Hall.
• Live sound reinforcement, lighting operation, and recording/streaming of audio and video for events in Snider Recital Hall.
• Post-production of audio/video from Snider Recital Hall for delivery to other departments or archives.
• Assisting the department technician with inventory and music library management.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
  • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
• Salary Range
• $16.90per hour.
