Job description

Shining Star Music Academy (www.shiningstarmusicacademy.com) is currently looking for Guitar, Piano, Voice, Drums, and Violin teachers in Jacksonville, Gainesville, Orlando, and Ocala!

We are seeking passionate music teacher candidates to join our growing team, supporting our expanding enrollment (anticipating over 800 students next semester!).

Our teachers work one-on-one with students, with strong support from our Director for training, administration, and scheduling. Interested candidates can message us to learn more or submit their resume for an interview.

Shining Star Academy offers in-home lessons in Jacksonville, Fleming Island, St. Johns, St. Augustine, North Orlando, Ocala, and Gainesville, FL, without a physical studio space. We travel to students’ homes for weekly lessons, with driving time paid. Our Founder and Director, Katrina Mendez, is based in North Florida.

Hours are flexible to fit your availability, and pay is consistent, with lessons paid regardless of student attendance. Our academy is a supportive environment run by experienced teachers committed to excellence and growth.

We value the ability to inspire joy in students through music, focusing on both fundamental skills and passion. Regular teacher meetings and company resources facilitate ongoing professional development.

Minimum Requirements: (Please do not apply if you do not meet ALL criteria):

1. Guitar, Piano, Voice, Drums, Violin lesson experience as a student (private lessons and performance)
2. Live locally in Jacksonville, Gainesville, Orlando, or Ocala
3. Willing to teach at least 2 hours or more weekly
4. Reliable vehicle
5. Commitment to excellence in your instrument
6. Performance experience in your instrument(s)
7. Self-motivated and organized
8. Punctual for appointments
9. Passion for sharing music
10. Flexible teaching approach to meet students’ needs
11. Experience working with children
12. Experience teaching any subject

Job Type: Part-time, flexible

Pay: From $29.50-$35/hour + $13/hour driving rate. We cover driving time between lessons at a per-hour rate.
