Academy of Warren is currently hiring Music Teachers for the 2025/2026 school year.

The academy will be hosting a job fair on May 22nd, 2025, from 10am to 6pm. It is an excellent opportunity to meet the team and tour the campus. The event will be held at 13943 E. 8 Mile Road, Warren, MI 48089.

Job Summary:

We seek passionate and dedicated Music Teachers to join our team. The Music Teacher will inspire and educate students in music theory, performance, and appreciation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education, enjoy working with students of various skill levels, and demonstrate innovative teaching methods that motivate learners.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the music curriculum and diverse learning styles.
• Teach various music subjects, including vocal and/or instrumental performance, music theory, and music history.
• Prepare students for performances and competitions, such as concerts, recitals, and festivals.
• Create assessments and monitor student progress through tests, quizzes, projects, performances, and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and engage in professional development.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to support the school's mission.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Cognitive Demands:

• Supervise multiple students simultaneously.
• Establish routines and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Create and implement instructional plans.
• Engage in continuous professional development.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Physical Demands:

• Occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Stand and walk frequently.
• Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Handle a moderate noise level.
• Perform first aid/CPR if necessary.
• Assist or lift students as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field.
• Valid Michigan teaching certification/license for secondary education with endorsement in music.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in musical instruments and/or vocal techniques.
• Solid understanding of music theory and composition.
