Music Teacher (PK-8)
This position may be shared with St. Margaret Mary Catholic School, offering the possibility of full-time employment for interested candidates.

Position Purpose
In cooperation with the parents, the Catholic school teacher exercises responsibility for forming the whole person spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially, and physically. The teacher models the Church’s values and beliefs through word and action, teaching according to gospel principles and moral values.

Responsibilities

  • Promulgates teachings consistent with Catholic principles and conducts self accordingly.
  • Holds a valid diocesan teacher’s contract and Kansas teaching license.
  • Collaborates with the principal to build a faith community.
  • Fulfills teaching assignments and responsibilities as outlined by the principal or faculty handbook.
  • Works closely with parents as primary educators.
  • Integrates moral values throughout the curriculum and activities.
  • Creates a classroom environment respecting human dignity for all children.
  • Implements diocesan curriculum, policies, and programs.
  • Plans and executes instructional activities to meet student outcomes.
  • Supervises students properly at all times.
  • Maintains professionalism in manner, appearance, and punctuality.
  • Participates in professional development to improve teaching effectiveness.
  • Fulfills diocesan policies on child abuse prevention (VIRTUS).
  • Upholds the school's integrity, avoiding personal gain through sales or publications.
  • Fulfills teaching contract conscientiously.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Principal or superintendent.

Qualifications: Kansas State Certification as an Elementary Teacher

Equipment: Uses standard office equipment including computers, printers, copiers, and phones.

Travel Requirements: Travel to school district buildings and meetings as needed.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards: Standard office and school environment.
