Arthur & Polly Mays K-12 Conservatory of the Arts seeks a dedicated Lower Academy Music Teacher to guide students in grades 2–5, building foundational musical skills and preparing them for auditions into the Upper Academy program.

You will teach vocal, instrumental, and theory concepts, direct performances, and collaborate with a passionate arts faculty to weave interdisciplinary learning into the conservatory’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music education or a related field.
• Valid Florida Teaching Certificate in Music K–12 (or eligibility).
• Strong passion for elementary arts education and student success.
• Strong piano/vocal or instrumental proficiency, classroom management, and knowledge of Orff, Kodály, or Suzuki pedagogy.

Our Band, Orchestra, and Chorus programs consistently earn Superior ratings at District and State Music Performance Assessments. Upon 12th grade graduation, our students earn scholarships and entry into elite music schools nationwide.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate Lower Academy Music Teacher to educate students in grades 2–5. In this role, you will build foundational musical skills and prepare students to successfully audition for our acclaimed Upper Academy Magnet Music Program upon entering 6th grade.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach age-appropriate vocal, instrumental, and music theory concepts to students in grades 2–5.
