Music Teacher K–8 | General Music & Instrumental Instruction

Location: 10402 N 56th St, Temple Terrace, FL 33617

The Music Teacher will provide comprehensive music instruction for students in grades K–8, fostering musical literacy, creativity, and performance skills. This role emphasizes exposure to a variety of musical forms and hands‑on instrumental learning, including keyboarding and guitar, while supporting a broader STEAM approach through rhythm, patterns, sound, and creative expression.

The ideal candidate will create an engaging and structured environment where students explore music through listening, performing, creating, and connecting.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver standards-aligned music instruction for students in grades K–8
• Teach foundational music concepts, including:
• Rhythm, melody, harmony, and notation
• Music appreciation and history across genres and cultures
• Introduce students to a variety of musical styles , such as classical, contemporary, jazz, gospel, global music, and modern genres
• Incorporate vocal instruction and group performance opportunities
• Prepare students for performances, showcases, and school/community events
• Integrate STEAM connections (sound waves, frequency, patterns, technology in music production)
• Maintain and manage musical instruments and equipment
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of both elementary and middle school learners
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and creativity
• Collaborate with staff to support school‑wide programs and events

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Experience teaching keyboard/piano and guitar in a school or youth setting
• Ability to teach multiple genres and culturally diverse music styles
• Familiarity with music technology (digital music tools, recording basics, or production software)
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
