Job Description

To provide instruction in general music techniques for grades K through 4.

Responsibilities
  1. Teach general music classes in grades K through 4.
  2. Participate in required activities, including the District Elementary Music Festival.
  3. Conduct concert programs in Fall and Spring semesters.
  4. Fulfill organizational requirements of the program.
  5. Maintain regular attendance and confidentiality.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Virtual Instruction
  1. Integrate online learning platforms and software into instruction.
  2. Plan, prepare, and evaluate lessons during standard and irregular hours.
  3. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  4. Adhere to professional responsibilities and deadlines.
  5. Create a conducive virtual classroom environment.
  6. Support extracurricular activities and attend meetings.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Proficiency in vocal music, choral techniques, and sight-reading.
  • Experience in solo and ensemble performances.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements.
  • Keyboard and instrumental skills; Orff-Kodaly training preferred.
Additional Information

Requires emotional control under stress, occasional irregular hours, and physical activity including moving equipment.
