Position Purpose

Under the supervision of the School Principal, facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting progress, addressing individual educational needs, creating a safe learning environment, and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration. Help students learn subject matter and skills contributing to their development as responsible individuals.

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop and administer elementary curriculum aligned with district goals.
  • Create a safe, conducive classroom environment for instruction and student learning.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials; utilize time effectively for learning experiences.
  • Assess student learning continuously; modify instructional methods for individual needs, including students with special needs.
  • Instruct students on responsible citizenship and other subject matters as per laws and school policies.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through seminars, workshops, or research.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and activities.
  • Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication.
  • Ensure student conduct aligns with school standards and policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate and improve curriculum; participate in meetings and committees.
  • Select and requisition instructional materials and maintain inventory.
  • Supervise students during activities outside the classroom, including transportation.
  • Administer standardized tests as per district programs.
  • Develop lesson plans using NIET Best Practice Instructional Rubric and participate in professional development.
Equipment

Uses standard musical equipment.

Travel Requirements

Travel to district buildings and meetings as needed.

Pay Rates

PEA certified position.

Work Schedule

Standard teacher hours as per contract.
