Job description

Overview

Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher to provide high-quality music instruction to students in grades K–12. The Music Teacher will be responsible for developing students’ understanding and appreciation of music through a variety of teaching methods, including vocal, instrumental, and music theory instruction. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, self-expression, and a love for music while aligning lessons with Pennsylvania academic standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging music curriculum for elementary, middle, and high school students
  • Teach general music, choir, and/or instrumental music depending on school needs and candidate expertise
  • Plan and lead performances, concerts, and other musicrelated events throughout the school year
  • Encourage students to explore different genres, instruments, and cultural perspectives in music
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student development
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments
  • Integrate technology and other innovative tools into music instruction when appropriate
  • Participate in schoolwide events, professional development, and team meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field required
  • Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II Certification in Music (K12)
  • Previous teaching experience preferred, especially in a school setting
  • Proficiency in a variety of musical instruments and vocal techniques
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to foster student creativity and engagement through music
  • Clearances: FBI fingerprints, PA state background check, child abuse history clearance, and a physical examination
