Music Teacher | 1.0FTE | Date Needed: 08/18/2025| 10 Month Work Calendar | Temporary

GENERAL DUTIES:

The music teacher promotes and develops successful learning for students in all K-12 music classes. The teacher also performs instructional and related duties as they pertain to the state and district standards in music education. The music teacher must perform duties in accordance with District policies and terms of the teacher contract. The teacher also maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid State of Oregon Teaching License appropriate for the position
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from an accredited institution
  • The ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • The ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds
  • The ability to work harmoniously with others
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
  • Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
  • The ability to learn new automated systems as they are brought online by the District
  • Possess the musical skills and knowledge to teach the required curriculum
  • Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district patrons
