Job summary

Youth Consultation Service in Hackensack is currently seeking a dedicated Music Teacher for the GWS. The YCS George Washington School in Hackensack is currently hiring a Music Teacher. GWS is a Department of Education-approved private school for classified students with behavioral, emotional, and social challenges. We have been successfully educating students ages 5–15, grades K–9, for over 30 years.

Duties Include:

• Provide quality music instruction for students in accordance with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards.
• Develop and implement engaging music lessons that support students’ educational, emotional, and developmental needs.
• Plan curriculum and instructional materials tailored to individual student abilities and learning styles.
• Encourage creativity, self-expression, and participation through music education activities.
• Maintain classroom structure and promote a positive learning environment.

Job Requirements:

• New Jersey Teaching Certificate with appropriate Music endorsement/certification
• Experience working with students with behavioral, emotional, or social challenges preferred
