The Montessori School of Columbia (MSC) is hiring a Music Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a part-time position in a fun and collaborative environment teaching children from ages 3K to 6th grade.
Responsibilities
This position is approximately 10 hours a week throughout the school year (August-May). Classes are between 12:00pm and 2:45pm M-F, exact schedule TBD.
Qualifications
Must have music experience; teaching experience preferred. Candidates will need to pass a SC SLED background check if selected.

At MSC, we develop each child's unique capabilities. Guided by Dr. Maria Montessori's work and current research, our staff honors children's natural curiosity. Our rigorous, self-paced curriculum allows children to progress according to their developmental levels.
The Montessori method emphasizes that children have a natural desire to learn. We foster this by providing Montessori materials that encourage creativity and cater to developmental needs, used during three-hour, uninterrupted work blocks. Instruction is personalized within limits set by Montessori guides, with children choosing materials they have been introduced to.
In multi-age classes, children learn the dignity of work and caring for themselves and others. We serve families from diverse backgrounds and educate students about global cultures, helping them become global citizens.
