Job description

Position Summary:

Our campus has an opening for a Music Teacher starting August 2025. This position provides a student centered, supportive classroom that promotes resourcefulness, critical thinking, self awareness, and inclusion while addressing the individual academic and emotional needs of each student through Fusion's differentiated approach.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour USD

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide a one-to-one teaching experience in the areas of music creation (songwriting, composition, beat making), audio recording and music production (especially electronic music production), and traditional musical instruction like instrumental music (guitar, drums, bass, keyboard) and music fundamentals/enrichment (theory, appreciation) at grade levels 6-12. 70% of the teaching load will focus on musical creativity through music technology.

  • Show evidence of adapting and differentiated instruction for all students and a classroom forum for holistic growth.

  • Maintain complete and accurate records.

  • Develop and maintain genuine, positive and consistent communication with parents.

  • Contribute to and benefit from the campus community.

  • Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection and continuous improvement.

  • In addition to subject matter tutoring and teaching, this position includes significant student mentoring.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required for consideration.

  • Solid experience and working knowledge in a majority of these areas: musical creativity (mostly contemporary commercial music), analog/digital music technology, and instrumental performance (guitar, drums, keyboard).

  • Confident proficiency with the tools and techniques associated with contemporary recording and music production: microphones, digital audio, audio editing, MIDI and virtual instruments, audio effects/processors, synthesis, sampling, and mixing.

  • Proficiency with at least two of the three of the industry standard DAWs: ProTools, Logic, and Ableton Live.

  • Other desirable skills include vocal pedagogy, bass, music theory, music history, and audio for multi-media applications.

  • Teaching credentials are a plus but are not mandatory.

  • Experience with students with learning differences and ADHD is a plus as well as mentoring experience.

  • The ideal candidate is outgoing, well organized, competent in basic computer skills, and is an individual who is eager to work in a highly dynamic, energetic school setting.

  • Candidate must be prepared to teach and tutor material at a high school level immediately.
