Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid California teaching credential (multiple subject or single subject with appropriate authorization); candidates in the process of credential completion may be considered.
• Ability to teach students in grades 6–8.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Strong background in music performance and/or composition, including contemporary music styles.
• Experience teaching beginning and advanced music students, including ensemble-based instruction.
• Knowledge of music theory, notation, rhythm, music history, and culturally responsive music education.
• Experience with songwriting, modern band instruction, and basic recording or music technology.
• Comfort integrating project-based learning and collaborative instructional strategies.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a start-up charter school environment.
