Music School Administrator

Soundcheck Rock Academy

Music is exceptional at Soundcheck Rock Academy and plays a crucial role in our community. Music is both incredibly popular and of great importance to our pupils and parents. There is a packed concert and performance schedule featuring a wide range of ensembles from beginner to advanced, performing in venues such as the Main Street Music Festival, and Music City Maryland Festival. Our showcases are held at Fishead Cantina or the Encore in Columbia MD. The Music School Administrator plays an integral role in the smooth running of the department. The successful candidate will act as the face of the music school and, as the first point of contact, must engage positively with parents, pupils, staff, and visitors, handling requests efficiently with attention to detail and high quality.

Main Responsibilities
  • Scheduling all music lessons using Opus1.io, including rotating bands through rehearsal rooms.
  • Managing administration for concerts and events with support from the General Manager and Music Director.
  • Entering student data and managing rehearsal and band schedules.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for parental inquiries regarding schedules, rescheduling, and other business matters.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date database of musicians, instruments, ensembles, and facilities.
  • Managing accounts for substitute teachers and lessons.
  • Welcoming students, parents, and visitors, creating a positive atmosphere, and giving facility tours.
  • Supporting facilities management, including marketing materials and social media updates.
  • Scheduling lessons and rehearsals, assisting with student placement, and administering concert ticketing and programs.
  • Providing administrative support to the General Manager and Music Director.
  • Tracking student activities and maintaining detailed records.
  • Assisting instructors with music notes and assignments.
  • Managing reports, instrument loan systems, and office supplies.
  • Organizing meetings and handling communication with parents and staff.
  • Attending major concerts and helping improve operational systems.
  • Coordinating with the second location and assisting with school presentation and upkeep.
