Job description

LWC seeks a Music Ministry Director to oversee all aspects of music for the church, including both of our Sunday services, the Wednesday Night Prayer service, and any special events. It also includes supporting the Youth and Children’s Ministry music teams as needed.

PURPOSE:

• to lead and develop the music ministry for congregational worship through song and music

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• lead the music ministry on Sunday services, Wednesday Night Prayer, and special events
• prepare and lead midweek rehearsals
• soundcheck before all services
• work in conjunction with Sound Ministry
• schedule band and vocals for services and rehearsals
• manage worshipplanning.com software
• manage and remain in compliance with CCLI requirements
• instrument care and maintenance, including inventory
• stage management (stage instruments are turned off and covered, etc.)
• conduct auditions and interviews
• continual music research
• encourage and work with the team to develop their musical gifts
• have good communication and foster team-building
• be aware of the needs of those in the ministry, encouraging unity, love, and humility

Responsible to: Senior Pastor, Church Coordinator.

Expected Start Date is flexible.

• ability to play guitar or piano preferred, but not required

• exemplify obedience to the Word of God and be devoted to prayer
• possess relational skills
• possess strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
