Job summary

West Music is seeking qualified instructors to provide regular music lessons for students aged 5 to adult. Lessons may be conducted in a store studio, virtually, or a mix of in-person and online formats.

Instructors design and deliver weekly sessions, prepare materials, and assess student progress. Collaboration with store staff and attendance/compliance tasks are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior teaching experience preferred.
• Available to teach lessons during scheduled hours at the West Music location.
• Understanding of music concepts and theory; ability to communicate to students of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Identify educational needs of each student and create appropriate lessons.
• Prepare course materials like syllabi and assignments.
• Explain and demonstrate musical techniques to students.
• Prepare students for performances, contests, or assessments.
• Maintain attendance records and other required records.
• Communicate progress with students and parents with constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with store personnel to maximize lesson experience.
• Use learning management tools to track progress, assign practices, and track attendance.
• Complete weekly timesheets and required training/compliance tasks.
• Keep informed of developments in the field through literature and conferences.
