Job summary

Rutgers University-Camden is seeking two Music Lab Technicians to assist in maintaining and operating the department’s laboratory classrooms, including the sculpture lab, print lab and music labs. The roles involve managing wood, plaster, ceramics studios, a recording studio and related equipment to support students and faculty in a safe, well-equipped learning environment.

These positions are part-time, temporary hourly appointments, with up to 20 hours per week and an on-site work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.
• Minimum of three to five years of relevant professional experience in an administrative and/or supervisory function, excellent communication skills, and computer literacy.
• A master's degree may be required in certain roles, particularly in research, project management or managerial positions; a minimum of three years related experience may be acceptable with a master's.

Responsibilities

• Operation of wood, plaster, and ceramics studios, where students and faculty engage in advanced fabrication and materials research.
• Operation of recording studio, inventory, classroom/practice music technical equipment and production musical technical equipment.
• Operation of print lab, including printers, presses and equipment.
