School of Rock in Tustin, CA is seeking a Music Instructor to lead private lessons and group rehearsals, delivering engaging experiences that challenge students and develop musical and life skills. The role emphasizes a dynamic, rock-and-roll vibe and a commitment to high quality instruction.

Candidates should have 4+ years of teaching or performing, strong knowledge of music theory, excellent communication with parents, and the ability to organize effective lesson plans.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and time management.
• Passion for teaching and working with students.
• Working musician with formal music school training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn the fundamentals of music, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate progress to parents after lessons.
• Be visible and accessible to students and parents in the school.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school.
• Adhere to the SOR Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Support five core areas: keys, vocals, guitar, bass, drums.
