Job summary

School of Rock in California is seeking a Music Instructor to lead lessons and rehearsals, inspiring students across keys, vocals, guitar, bass and drums. You’ll design engaging lesson plans and help students grow musically and personally.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years teaching or performing, strong knowledge of music theory, excellent customer relations, and the ability to work under pressure. A working musician with formal music school training is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of teaching or professional music performance experience.
• Strong knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with students and parents.
• Organizational skills and ability to plan lessons effectively.
• Ability to stay composed and professional under pressure.
• Active working musician with formal music school training preferred.
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient and positive demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Maximize quality of music instruction across private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate progress with parents and be visible in school.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance as needed.
