Job summary

Art & Soul School is seeking an energetic, organized Music Director to lead, develop, and grow our music department. This is an in-person, part-time leadership position based in Santa Rosa, CA, with a typical schedule Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–7:00 PM, plus occasional evenings and weekends for events.

The Music Director will mentor music staff, manage curriculum, and oversee recitals and performances while maintaining a small teaching schedule to stay connected with students and to model mentoring

Qualifications

• Experienced music educator and leader responsible for program development and staff coaching.
• Strong communication with families and teachers, and ability to mentor music mentors.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support music mentors through regular observations and feedback.
• Become knowledgeable in all Art & Soul music curriculum and teaching standards.
• Help teachers improve instruction, classroom management, student engagement, and family communication.
• Identify areas where mentors need additional training or support.
• Train and onboard new music mentors in curriculum, policies, and methods.
• Build a positive, collaborative music team and oversee all recitals and performances.
• Coordinate students, mentors, schedules, rehearsals, and performance logistics.
• Create memorable performance experiences for students and families.
• Ensure performances are organized and aligned with standards.
