Covenant Presbyterian Church PC(USA) in Augusta, GA seeks a Part-time Director of Music & Organist to lead and grow our music ministry. Plan, administer, and supervise music programs; collaborate with staff and volunteers to enrich worship and community outreach.
Bachelor’s degree in music is required; graduate degree preferred, with several years in church music leadership. The role includes Sunday services, seasonal services, youth/children programs, and budget oversight.

Position Summary: To plan, administer, and supervise the music ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Status: Part-time, 20-30 hours/week. Covenant will negotiate hours and responsibilities and may consider creative alternatives for the right candidate. Responsibilities below represent all duties for a 30 hour/week position.
Accountability: The Director of Music & Organist is accountable to the Head(s) of Staff and works closely with the Worship Ministry Team and other Covenant ministries as needed.
Other: The Director of Music and Organist is permitted to teach music lessons using the church’s facilities and instruments.
Relationships: The Director of Music and Organist will work with the Co-Pastor(s), office staff, the choir(s), the Worship Ministry Team, and volunteers.
Annual Review: Annual reviews will be conducted in accordance with the personnel policy. The Sustainability Ministry Team will annually review the adequacy of compensation prior to budget preparation.
Professional-level church musician.
Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate degree in music preferred.
Prefer at least three years in leadership position of church music programs. Proficient in organ and conducting choral music. Prefer experience with handbell choirs.
