Job summary

Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts seeks part-time academic and instructional support staff for Fall 2026 across the Music Department. Positions include substitute musicians, production staff for Fall Opera, accompanists for applied lessons, and coaching for classical and jazz ensembles.

Minimum qualifications require a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and at least one year of teaching or technical experience; graduate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience: Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and relevant one year of teaching and/or technical experience.
• Graduate degree preferred.
• Strong pedagogical, organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide substitute musicianship and perform as production staff for Fall Opera.
• Accompanists for applied lessons and pedagogy instruction.
• Choral area accompanists and ensemble coaching support (classical and jazz).
• Graduate student department assistants for secondary lessons and tech classes.
• Support Rutgers Marching Scarlet Knights and other departmental academic tasks.
