Job summary

Luther College is seeking an Admission Counselor / Assistant Director of Music Recruitment to recruit, counsel, and manage relationships with prospective music students. The role collaborates with Music and Enrollment leaders to develop a strategic recruitment plan and serves as the primary Admissions contact for prospective music students.

The position involves travel, campus visits, and coordination of auditions and scholarships, with a focus on building pipelines for musicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any major required.
• Knowledge of Music and Music Education is essential.
• Fluency in a second language is desirable.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with liberal arts colleges.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual recruitment plan for music prospects.
• Build relationships with students, families, counselors, and influencers.
• Plan visits, attend college fairs, and represent Luther at events.
• Monitor audition-related metrics and adjust recruitment strategies.
• Coordinate with Enrollment and Marketing on messaging and materials.
• Travel to recruit at conferences and host music recruitment activities.
• Lead liaison with Music department and coordinate auditions.
• Maintain music-related Luther web pages and content.
