Job summary

Center for Family Life in Sunset Park is seeking an Activity Specialist – Music for afterschool and school-year programs. The role focuses on designing and delivering age-appropriate music activities for school-aged participants within a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires a strong vocal music background, ability to accompany with piano or guitar, and comfort in a dynamic, school-based setting. Part-time schedule runs 20–24 hours weekly, with afterschool hours in Brooklyn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; strong vocal music instruction background.
• Proficiency in piano and/or guitar accompaniment.
• Ability to work with youth across ages in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Design age-appropriate, standards-based music curricula for groups of elementary youth.
• Lead weekly vocal music and composition instruction and activities.
• Incorporate NYS arts standards into music curriculum.
• Attend field trips and off-site activities around NYC.
• Collaborate on program-wide performances and special events.
