Job summary

The American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis is seeking a part-time Retail Sales Associate to assist shoppers in the Museum Store and Julshop during the holiday season. You will handle sales, restock inventory, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service to every customer.

You will operate the POS system, answer questions, and help train volunteers while maintaining a clean, organized store and engaging displays under the Museum Store Manager.

Qualifications

• 2+ years retail experience.
• H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Basic math to count change.
• Basic computer skills to operate POS and SOPs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to take initiative and plan work.
• Adapt to changing environments with competing priorities.
• Provide outstanding customer service by addressing needs and resolving conflicts.
• Follow through on projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Museum Store visitors with questions and merchandise location.
• Operate POS and process cash/credit transactions in line with policies.
• Restock inventory using daily sales reports.
• Help train Museum Store volunteers.
• Ensure POS equipment is functional and report repairs.
• Maintain a clean store and breakroom.
• Monitor promotions and events.
• Support appealing store displays under the Museum Store Manager.
