Job summary

The Peel Compton Foundation in Bentonville, AR seeks a part-time Museum Gift Shop Clerk for the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden. You will provide friendly customer service, greet visitors, handle sales, and help keep the shop inviting and organized.

Qualifications

• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Works well independently with light supervision.
• Experience using POS and inventory management software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel).
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Must be able to work some weekends and holidays.

About the Position

Join our team as a part-time Museum Gift Shop Clerk! Based in the historic Andy Lynch Log Cabin at the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden, this role reports directly to the Museum Manager.

General Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to museum visitors and store customers
• Greet museum visitors and capture their information before tours
• Perform open and closing duties for the store and other areas of the property
• Monitor inventory levels and product expiration, along with general merchandising ensuring that products are displayed appropriately and are attractive to customers
• Price and stock new inventory in a timely manner
• Ensure the store is clean and inviting to customers
• Meet monthly sales goals

Who we are seeking

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a retail environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
• Works well independently and with light supervision
• Experience using POS and inventory management software
