Job summary

Modern Shop is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Facilities Department in Fort Worth, TX. The role covers building interiors and exteriors, grounds, and mechanical systems, with emphasis on HVAC maintenance and safety.

Qualifications

High school diploma required; associate degree or some college preferred.
4–5 years of facilities maintenance experience with HVAC knowledge.
Ability to review mechanical issues and propose solutions to the Facilities Manager.
Initiative to complete projects with minimal supervision.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team and maintain safety awareness.

Responsibilities

Maintains and repairs interior and exterior areas, including minor electrical, lighting, painting, grounds, and reflecting pool maintenance.
Monitors mechanical systems and performs preventive maintenance; keeps records.
Inspects building and grounds and suggests improvements to Facilities Manager.
Coordinates setups for programs, meetings, events, and building rentals.
May work after hours to respond to emergencies.
Collaborates with staff to ensure timely, high-quality work.
Performs other duties to support Facilities Department operations.
