Job summary

The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) is seeking a Facilities Attendant to maintain cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the Museum and Sculpture Garden. You will support setup and breakdown for events and programs, ensuring a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, volunteers, and guests.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning of restrooms and public spaces, maintenance of exterior areas, and safe operation of custodial equipment. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school graduates or GED equivalent.
• Two years of related experience desirable in housekeeping or facilities.
• General maintenance experience is a plus.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently with follow-through.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Museum staff and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain restrooms, public areas, floors and glass daily.
• Maintain restroom fixtures, surfaces, counters, trash, and supplies.
• Care for Sculpture Garden facilities and exterior areas.
• Operate floor-care machines and custodial equipment safely.
• Use and store cleaning products and PPE per safety procedures.
• Report spills, trash and maintenance concerns promptly.
• Coordinate daily assignments with Facilities Manager.
• Assist with event setup and breakdown and other facility tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness during events and in crowded environments.
• Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
