Job summary

Miami University’s Richard & Carole Cocks Art Museum in Oxford seeks a Curator of Education and Community Engagement to develop and coordinate educational programs and outreach for RCCAM and McGuffey House and Museum. This role emphasizes inclusive, impactful audiences and partnerships on campus and in the community.

You will plan tours, collaborate with faculty and campus partners, train docents, and support exhibitions and the museum’s renovation efforts ahead of the Fall 2027 re-opening,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Art History, Museum Studies, Art Education or a related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years working in Art Education, Museums, and Public Programming; 4 years acceptable with curriculum development experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for diverse audiences.
• Schedule and coordinate tours, class visits, and educational group experiences.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to align programs with curricular goals.
• Cultivate relationships with local schools and community organizations to expand outreach.
• Coordinate and facilitate public programs in support of exhibitions and collections.
• Train and support docents, student educators, and volunteers.
• Track participation and analyze audience engagement to inform planning.
