Job summary

Newfields is seeking an Assistant Educator for School Programs in Indianapolis to expand school engagement, develop and coordinate teacher-focused programs, and create docent-ready curricula aligned with Indiana standards. The role collaborates with Marketing to design promotional materials and supports training of volunteer docents while managing program documentation and expenses.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in a related field and have 3–5 years of museum experience focused

Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of professional museum experience with a focus on PreK–12 engagement.

Responsibilities

Expand school engagement with teachers, school administrators, and districts partners.
Develop, coordinate, and implement school and teacher programs, including workshops, continuing education sessions, educator and student resources, and field trips.
Develop new programs, partnerships, and resources that integrate emerging trends in PreK-12 education.
Design print and digital promotional materials with Marketing and Communications.
Translate Indiana Academic Standards into docent-ready learning goals and curricula.
Assist in training and evaluation of volunteer docents for school programs.
Maintain and update docent teaching materials and digital files.
Assist with tracking expenses and maintaining program documentation.
Represent Newfields at off-site events and school programs.
Participate in cross-functional teams and campus projects.
