Job summary

The Chinati Foundation seeks an Education Coordinator to support its diverse education programs under the Education Manager. This role collaborates with MISD and West Texas schools to develop engaging PreK-12 and college programming, on-campus tours, and hands-on art activities.

Regular duties include coordinating classes, preparing materials, tracking supplies, and assisting in budgeting and evaluation. The position is part-time, onsite in Marfa, TX, with some evening/weekend hours as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of nonprofit/museum education experience.
• Experience with PreK–12 students.
• Studio skills in a variety of media.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification (Chinati will provide).
• Valid driver’s license (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate Pre-K-12 education programs and workshops.
• Coordinate logistics for on-campus tours and school visits.
• Prepare classroom materials aligned with lesson plans.
• Support development of curricula aligned with Chinati’s mission.
• Track orders for education supplies and maintain inventory.
• Assist in budgeting, evaluation, and reporting for education programs.
• Collaborate across departments to support education initiatives.
• Perform general administrative tasks and event planning.
