Job summary

United States Golf Association, based in Liberty Corner, NJ, seeks a Museum Collections Intern for hands-on experience in cataloging, rehousing, and data standardization. You will support the collections team on large-scale projects and learn preservation best practices in a historic museum setting.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a Museum Studies program or recent graduates, with strong attention to detail, basic Microsoft Office skills, and a willingness to work 20 hours per week

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a MA program in Museum Studies or related field
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members

Responsibilities

Assist with long-term collections projects including rehousing and cataloging of artifacts
Support rehousing and movement of materials across all collections storage locations
Assist with receiving and releasing shipments, packing artifacts for transport and condition reporting
Support collections team in gallery maintenance through climate monitoring and pest management
Additional collections management projects as directed
