Job summary

University of Michigan is seeking an Off Campus Non-Profit Student Employee- Collections Assistant (FALL WORK STUDY ONLY). The role supports the Collections Department, working with the Collections Manager to preserve, store, and display historic pieces while gaining hands-on museum experience.

This part-time, onsite position involves data entry, documentation, research, and adherence to safety policies. Approximately 8 hours weekly, with training and meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for Fall 2026 Work Study.
• Undergraduate student pursuing a museum-related career.
• Must pass background screening.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Support collections care, archival and collections management projects.
• Documentation and data entry.
• Research.
• Maintain a clean and organized storage/workspace.
• Adhere to museum policies on security and safety.
• Participate in departmental meetings and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Collections Manager.
