Job summary

The Studio Museum in Harlem is seeking an Environmental Service Worker to maintain cleanliness across the museum building, offices, and storage areas. You will perform floor care, restroom sanitation, trash removal, and surface disinfection, with occasional evening events and weekends.

Reports to the Associate Director of Building Operations and works independently or in teams. Hours are 8 hours daily, five days per week, totaling 35 hours plus lunch.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required for this position.
• Ability to read and understand policy manuals.
• Basic computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Emptying trash cans and replacing liners.
• Dusting all surfaces.
• Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, offices, stairs, elevators, and desks.
• Cleaning galleries and art spaces as needed.
• Polish floors and clean windows as needed.
• Escort vendors and assist with events setup/breakdown.
• Travel to nearby facilities for cleaning and delivery tasks.
