Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a motivated scientist to perform professional level research in a fast-paced lab focused on sex differences and hormone effects in chondrocyte biology. The Hernandez Lab welcomes a candidate with training in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, histology, and imaging.

Expect to work with Dr. Hernandez, learn advanced techniques such as RNAseq and confocal microscopy, and contribute to data presentation and manuscript

Qualifications

• Requires Master’s or PhD-level training in a related field.
• 3+ years laboratory experience with relevant techniques.
• Experience with mammalian primary cell culture and molecular biology.

Responsibilities

• Recommends and initiates procedures based on latest developments.
• Performs data analysis and coding for research results.
• Designs and maintains equipment for experiments.
• Mentors students and junior staff in techniques.
