Job Description

The Medical Office Assistant greets and welcomes patients and families in person or on the telephone. They optimize the patient experience and clinic efficiency by scheduling appointments appropriately, maintaining patient accounts, collecting co-pays and prior balances, and ensuring confidentiality of personal and financial information. The role also involves customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling, and referral management. Ability to interact effectively with medical professionals and diverse care team members is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain and update demographic and insurance information for all patients.
  • Perform pre-registration and registration processes efficiently to meet productivity metrics.
  • Complete regulatory and compliance forms for each visit.
  • Verify insurance, process payments, and communicate reimbursement expectations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and families.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of customer service experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Previous healthcare front desk experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, reach, and lift objects up to 20 lbs. Vision correction to 20/40 is required. Work indoors in a latex-safe environment.
