Provides patient- and family-centered care, acting as a partner and adviser. Supports patients and families in managing their health care, respecting their culture, values, individual needs, health goals, and treatment preferences. Applies critical reasoning and clinical judgment to expedite appropriate care, especially for complex or potentially life-threatening conditions. Assists medical staff with patient preparation, examinations, and procedures, including interviewing patients, documenting findings, and vital signs. Performs telephone and in-person screenings. Documents all patient care in accordance with policies. Manages incoming calls regarding medications and medical conditions, consulting with providers as needed. Maintains examination rooms and supplies.
CMA I: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred with one year of patient care experience.
LPN I: Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program. Licensed as an LPN within South Carolina or a compact state.
Must be certified through recognized agencies such as AMT, AAMA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, or MedCA. Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, climb stairs, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various environments. Corrected vision of 20/40 or better.
