Job Description
Job Summary/Purpose: The successful applicant will be an Advanced Practice Provider interested in working full-time in the care of hospitalized patients with intestinal failure at Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and providing inpatient nutritional support. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of teamwork and will help to build and expand our practice caring for diverse patients.
Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Salaried/Exempt
Hours per week: 40
Patient Population Focus: Inpatient
Patient Population Age Range: 0-21
Required Training And Experience
Minimum Training: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and current licensure or eligibility as a Physician Assistant, or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and licensure as an APRN.

Preferred Experience: One year of Pediatric subspecialty experience as a PA or APRN.
Degree of Supervision: An APRN or PA will be assigned a Primary Supervising/Collaborating Physician employed by MUSC and will report directly to this physician.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: All certifications must be current and complete prior to start: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). DHEC and DEA licenses should be initiated before employment. The Nutrition Support APP will be expected to obtain and maintain CNSC certification within 18 months of hire.

Additional Requirements
Master's degree in Nursing, at least two years of clinical experience (one in a specialty), certification as a Nurse Practitioner, licensure as a Registered Nurse, BLS certification, and eligibility for certification within six months if a new graduate. Must hold or obtain South Carolina Nurse Practitioner licensure.
