Murdoch nurses work as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team with physicians, psychologists, pharmacists, psychiatrists, and social workers, among others. Nurses gain professional fulfillment through evidence-based, person-centered nursing practice.
Murdoch is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse located in the Alpine area. Alpine Cottage serves an adult population with non-ambulatory, non-mobile individuals with severe or profound intellectual/developmental disabilities requiring 24-hour licensed nursing care. The focus is on gross motor activities, basic self-help skills, communication, and health care needs. Medical concerns include seizure disorders, gastrointestinal issues, neurogenic bladders, and chronic respiratory problems.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional nursing care to clients in assigned units. This RN evaluates, assesses, and coordinates care delivery for the caseload. Supervision is provided for LPNs and unlicensed staff as needed. Acts as charge nurse in the absence of the Nurse Supervisor, overseeing daily operations on the shift. Provides advanced clinical services, including medication and treatment administration, physician contact, health needs planning, and emergency care.
This is a full-time position eligible for the full state benefits package, including health insurance, paid sick/vacation/holidays, retirement, etc.
