As a Municipal & Water Resources Staff Engineer II, you will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other professionals to deliver innovative and effective civil engineering solutions. In this role, you’ll gain exposure to the entire project lifecycle—from planning and design to permitting, bidding, and construction. We offer mentorship, structured training, and opportunities for hands-on experience to help you develop your professional skill set.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Design & Planning:
    Design a variety of projects, including stormwater, utility, roadway, site design, and parks/recreation; design green infrastructure and contribute to infrastructure replacement, rehabilitation, and pavement projects; prepare plans such as site layouts, utility plans, profiles, and detailed site designs.
  2. Permitting & Compliance:
    Conduct stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control, and other calculations/reports necessary for permits and approvals; assist with DEP permits, including NPDES, MS4 Stormwater, and Joint Permitting.
  3. Proposals, Documentation & Cost Estimation:
    Draft engineering proposals and project manuals, including construction specifications; estimate project costs and conduct land development plan reviews.
  4. Construction Support & Bidding:
    Provide project bidding and construction services.
  5. Client Interaction & Collaboration:
    Participate in client meetings and presentations, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • E.I.T. Certification
  • 2+ years of consulting engineering experience including:
    Preparing drainage, stormwater management, erosion & sedimentation control calculations and reports; project manuals, construction specifications, and contract administration; report writing.
  • Experience in subdivision and land development ordinances for municipal plan reviews
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD and Hydraflow Storm Sewers (or other similar stormwater modeling programs), and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary
  • Legal right to work in the U.S.
