Job summary

Copperas Cove is seeking a skilled equipment operator to safely operate street sweepers and related heavy municipal equipment on urban routes and residential areas. The role involves maintaining logs, performing routine preventive maintenance, and assisting with road repairs as needed.

Valid Texas CDL Class B license and a State-Approved Herbicide/Pesticide Applicator License must be obtained within one year of hire; HS diploma or equivalent required; 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent; plus, a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience operating commercial trucks, heavy municipal equipment, industrial sweeping machinery, or vegetation management/spraying equipment.
• Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) – Class B (or higher) with a clean driving record.
• State-Approved Herbicide/Pesticide Applicator License must be obtained within one (1) year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maneuver heavy municipal sweepers along designated urban routes, residential areas and commercial corridors.
• Operates equipment for street repair and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate daily logs of mileage, operating hours, fuel consumption, and chemical application records.
