Job summary

The City of West Haven is seeking an experienced financial analyst/manager to support budgeting, revenue processing, and accounts receivable operations. The role requires leadership over staff, accuracy in financial reporting, and independent judgment in a municipal context.

You will work on analyses across the general ledger, cash, investments, and related tasks, contributing to process improvements and informed decision-making throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years professional experience in financial cost analysis, budget preparation, or related area.
• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and supervisory/lead role.
• Master's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, interpret, and analyze diverse information and reports; make data-driven recommendations.
• Monitor reconciliations and analyze impact on trial balance.
• Assist with program evaluation, organizational analysis, and procedures monitoring.
• Assist with audits of City departments and contracts, including financial audits.
• Supervise staff and provide guidance on billing questions and customer inquiries.
• Develop short- and long-term revenue forecasts and expenditure projections.
