Under supervision of the Director of Law and Chief City Prosecutor, the Assistant City Prosecutor will handle prosecutions for multiple jurisdictions and provide PLA services 24/7. JD and Ohio license required; salary $70,000–$85,000.

Qualifications

• JD required from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Ohio (Supreme Court of Ohio).
• Strong courtroom, research, and writing abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute misdemeanor criminal cases for Akron and surrounding jurisdictions.
• Provide police legal advisement (PLA) 24/7 on a rotating on-call schedule.
